Bonds, Bonds, Bonds

Let's talk seriously here gents.

"Depending on the substance, Bonds used the drugs in virtually every conceivable form: injecting himself with a syringe or being injected by his trainer, Greg Anderson, swallowing pills, placing drops of liquid under his tongue, and, in the case of BALCO's notorious testosterone-based cream, applying it topically."

And then:

"Through 1998, for instance, when he turned 34, Bonds averaged one home run every 16.1 at bats. Since then -- what the authors identify as the start of his doping regimen -- Bonds has hit home runs nearly twice as frequently (one every 8.5 at bats)."

Bonds is a complete mess. He's (perhaps) the most talented player of the era and now it's all gone.

I think he should quit immediately. And if not, he should be roundly booed in every stadium outside of the United States of San Fran.

If it's possible to be hurt by a player I already didn't like, then consider me injured.

Oh..and congrats to the U.S. team for a fine win over Mexico. I don't think this team is gonna give up a lot of hits...

In a twisted way, it might serve the game better if he hangs on for the next few years as his body starts to break down. When he finally has to stop taking all this crud, he's going to become the walking embodiment of why this is so horrible for the game.

And I'm not even too worried about the numbers. As people come to accept that many of his records were set and achieved while on the juice, he'll lose all historical credibility.

Here's to Albert Pujols.

The cream, the clear, the pill, the liquid. Whatever. In order to hit a home run, you have to time a pitched ball, swing the bat and hit it out of the park. Barry Bonds has done that over 700 times. Jose Canseco took steroids. Barry Bonds has more home runs than him. Mark McGwire took steroids (allegedly). Barry Bonds has more home runs than him. Rafael Palmeiro took steroids. Barry Bonds has more home runs than him. Taking steroids doesn't make you hit home runs. Baseball players hit home runs. Barry could inject himself with a syringe in left field in front of 50,000 fans chanting you suck, but you know what? He still hit more home runs than anyone who has cheated like he has. It doesn't make it right. It is however a fact.

And Barry's head is bigger than all those other men.
