Thames and Inge watch the shot that — finally — launches the Tigers’ season.

Wasn’t it fun to watch: home runs, manufactured runs, pinch bunting, Pudge throwing out runners, a starting pitcher getting out of a jam, relief pitching protecting a lead, enthusiasm in the dugout? It was only one little win, and the Tigs are still 1-7, but that glimpse of successful, competent baseball suddenly opens up a season of possibility, don’t it?

Even as they fall closer to 1-8, the only part of the Tigers that is concerning for me is getting runners in from scoring position, especially with Gary "Double Play" Sheffield's current pace. I'm not concerned about the bullpen until the end of the regular season. As a matter of fact, the scrap they're throwing out there right now will save pitches for the regular bullpen when they get off the DL !
why, i mean...WHY...was bazardo in during the 8th? what happened to denny and that lopez? talk about cold water on a comeback. bazardo?
however...this and these are the losses we were expecting this year.
starters need to game out being efficient. we need six innings from a start to win. throwing more strikes, giving up hits really doesn't hurt as much as losing our starter to 100+ pitches in the fifth.
it's been a long season, and it's early april.
A rain out today means a crack at the uber-shaky back end of the W.Sox rotation.
That's all I got.
