When The AL Central Smack Will Cease ...

... When talk turns to AL Central World Champions:

Detroit - 4
Chicago - 3
Cleveland - 2
Minnesota - 2
Kansas City - 1

The recent slide out of the gate here by the Tigers just gives frivolous fodder to the divisional rivals that do not have as many World Trophies. We'll see where Detroit is on June 1. The rest will have to "earn their stripes" so to speak after October 1.

Not to piss in anyone's Cheerios here, but only two teams in the history of baseball have made the playoffs after dropping their first five in a season: the 1974 pirates and the 1995 reds.

both teams started 0-6, for the record.

if the pounding the tigers are taking on their bottoms tonight is any indication, they have as much chance of making the post-season as i do making $1 million this year.

(i have zero chance of making $1 million this year.)

. . . Also please note the White Sox probably would have won in 1919 if the weren't on the take.

Let's over-analyze just for fun:

2 Games Tigs Competed
2 Games Tigs Got Beat
2 Games Tigs Didn't Show Up

So really, if you think about it...we're REALLY HONESTLY AND TRULY 0 AND FREAKIN' 6 TO START THE SEASON OF DREAMS.

I feel like Notre Dame. I feel like the Bulls this year. I feel like...ah hell with it, they're still gonna mash. This will just make us enjoy the wins more.

Darkest before dawn and whatnot.

It is said that 1919 Sox squad was the best ever assembled. I do have a plaque in honor of that team. It is hanging in my bathroom, but indeed on the wall.

On a side note ... AM 670 The Score made a glorious move bringing in Steve Stone with Ed Farmer for the White Sox broadcasts. Farmer is always entertaining to hear and Stone has a knowledge of the game that is second to none. Bravo Southside !
